ESG Program Manager
Samantha Hicks (Sam) is a California girl, born and raised in LA County. Her education led to a Bachelors in Humanities, an interdisciplinary field that studies human culture and society. Sam is married with two children, born 15 months apart. She describes her family as her greatest inspiration, her strongest supporters, and the motivators in her life.
Sam joined AMS in 2011 as an HR Coordinator. Her tasks included a special focus on benefits, leaves of absence, and employee engagement. She enjoyed the personal connection with people that the role gave to her. In 2018 Sam was offered the opportunity to specialize in Organizational Development, which included training and leading the AMS Green Team and Volunteer Committee as well as continuing to drive employee engagement.
In 2023 Sam was promoted to Corporate Culture Workforce Development BP, where she focused on B Corp initiatives. She recognized the positive impact AMS can have on things that truly matter… people and planet, raising AMS’ initial B Corp score of 85.2 to 100.3.
In 2024, she was promoted to ESG Program Manager, with the great responsibility to analyze, evaluate, develop, and integrate the impact of AMS’ corporate activities on the environment, society, and corporate governance.
Sam voices her gratitude as follows: “From the beginning of my journey to now, AMS believed in me, invested in me, and gave me the resources I needed to pursue my career development. With great leadership and greater purpose comes empowerment.”
When away from work and enjoying home and family, Sam is enthusiastic about plants. She engages in gardening and landscaping. During the Spring/Summer season Sam and her children tend to the pumpkin patch, corn patch, and herb/veggie gardens. Being outside, barefoot in the grass, she enjoys a sense of unity with nature.
