Regional Vice President of Operations, AMS West
Ignacio Garcia was born in Mexico and grew up in a family of seven. The family moved to the US in 1978 and settled in Sylmar, CA. He went to school, graduated high school, worked his first job as a loader for UPS while still in high school, and attended the local community college.
Ignacio is married with one daughter, one granddaughter, a German Shepherd named Zoe and a Labrador named Mia. In his leisure hours he enjoys time spent with his granddaughter, going bike riding, hiking and walking. Ignacio and his family live in Lancaster, CA.
Prior to joining AMS, Ignacio served as an Operations Supervisor for New Roads, a multi-location national fulfillment company which focused on DRTV, retail, promotional and entertainment fulfillment. At the same time he held an evening job at Sam’s Club handling inventory and stocking shelves.
Ignacio joined AMS in 2005 as an Operations Supervisor. He was promoted to Director of Operations in 2016 overseeing AMS’ HQ Building where he was responsible for managing a number of different clients in the apparel, beauty and consumer goods industries, many of which require product assembly, QC, FIFO/lot control and product quarantine processes. As Director of Operations he was instrumental in the implementation of the hand-held/RF picking process which has greatly improved efficiency and accuracy.
In 2023 Ignacio was promoted again to Regional VP of Operations (AMS West). He manages all organizational day-to-day operations to ensure they are efficient, cost-effective and aligned with the company’s goals. He is responsible for maintaining staffing levels, monitoring/ improving levels of productivity, cross training employees and quality control.
Ignacio enjoys working closely with Pleasantview Industries and other programs in the community that assist persons for whom it is difficult to find work. He very much appreciates AMS’ desire to hire individuals with disabilities, men and women who have been incarcerated, individuals facing homelessness, local at-risk youth and others who have difficulty being hired. He appreciates working for a B Corporation that helps employees overcome obstacles through education and training, and sees the AMS culture as an inspiration to give his very best each day.
