Hi! I’m Odalys.
I am an Operations Supervisor I at Newark, and I have been with AMS since October 2023.
My proudest accomplishment is my continuous drive to keep learning everything I can to move up within the company.
My mentor, of course, is Amber S. I have learned a lot from her since the first day I arrived at AMS. She always pushed me because she knew my potential to do more. Though she always has a lot of work to do, she always takes time to teach me everything I need. I appreciate Amber so much; who I am right now and most of what I know is because of her. And I appreciate Steve C. because he takes his time to show me how I can do things better when I need to understand a specific task. Thank you both for everything and for believing in me.
My biggest personal goal right now is to grow my Etsy business by making personalized cups, shirts, planners, and more! With time and dedication, I can do it. And my professional goal is to keep growing in this company.
My biggest challenge is being so far away from my family in Puerto Rico, and proving to myself I can do everything and work hard for my kids to have a better future here in the US.
If I could go back to the start of my career and give myself one piece of advice, it would be not to start my career at Amazon, and to start my career at AMS (lol).
If I could switch jobs with anyone at the company for one day, I don’t think I would. I’m good where I am right now, and I need to learn more so I can build a solid foundation for when I step into more responsibility.
I think one misconception I wish people better understood is that becoming a permanent resident is sometimes hard, plus being Latino with English as my second language. We come to the US to work hard and have more opportunities than we have in our motherland.

A mantra that I live by is “things happen for a reason, and God knows what he is doing and what the correct path is for everyone.”
What my coworkers would be surprised to learn about me (I think they know already how friendly and happy I am (lol), I make a delicious dessert.
I am passionate about my work, and helping my coworkers, and I want to be better every day. I am driven to learn more and more.
My favorite family recipe is making a cheese flan or vanilla flan. I love making that dessert and seeing the joy it brings to my family, as my gift of love to them.
My favorite hobby outside of work is crocheting, and I enjoy arts and crafts.
If I were on a deserted island, the three items I would bring with me are a compass, a knife, and a lighter.
