In this Mother’s Day blog we would like to feature a very special organization that has been working with and supported by AMS Fulfillment for many years – Single Mothers Outreach in Santa Clarita, CA. The organization features a variety of programs and services, with the main areas of their work being mental health, education, workforce development and housing stability.
One of the things Single Mothers Outreach (SMO) does is assist individuals with job training. As one of the major job providers in the community, AMS provides the opportunity and welcomes the trainees. In addition, SMO does much more. Here below is more information on what this organization means by “scaffolding families.”
“SMO provides emergency stabilization for families who are in real danger of losing everything. Case management will provide initial intake assessments to make sure as many needs are met as quickly as possible. Case management by experienced staff guides the agency’s ability to provide advocacy and resources on an individualized and personal basis. Single parents show up at SMO’s doors with varied and unique needs. Case management meets them where they are.”
Single Mothers Outreach has kindly sent AMS a greeting and a thank you in anticipation of an upcoming Mother’s Day event:
“Single Mothers Outreach feels deeply thankful for the amazing support received from AMS Fulfillment. AMS has become a key donor of Single Mothers Outreach and their generosity has impacted hundreds of lives.
For over six years Betty-Lou Wiseman has been a faithful donor to our organization providing thousands of dollars in beautiful merchandise. AMS has become the main donor of our boutique Closet on Main located on Main Street in Newhall. Closet on Main serves three main purposes: It is a stream of income for the organization, helping to finance several of our programs and providing hundreds of scholarships to our moms and kids. It also serves as a training place for our moms in preparation to find jobs. Finally, and not less important, it provides free clothing for moms and children on a monthly basis.
Not only have the products donated by AMS become a pillar to the success of our store, but also a source of joy for our moms. For the past years AMS has been present in our Mother’s Day celebration. We have been able to create beautiful goodie bags thanks to the donations received from AMS. This year will not be the exception. Saturday the 7th we will be hosting a brunch and each mom will receive a beautiful goodie bag with amazing products donated by AMS.
Our Moms are looking forward to the event. It will be the first in-person Mother’s Day in two years and we are working hard to make it extra special. THANK YOU AMS for giving us the opportunity to celebrate single moms and children and for bringing smiles to hundreds of faces and hope to their hearts.
We have no words to thank you for your kindness and generosity. You are truly a community caring business that invests in those around you with a real heart for serving.” Yorleni Sapp
In honor of Mother’s Day, and all of the mothers in our community, we encourage readers to visit the Closet on Main, check out the website of Single Mothers Outreach and support the good work of this organization.
